As I approach my last week of training, I can hardly wait for next Saturday. This will be my first half marathon and I am so excited and scared. I want to tahnk everyone who has supported me through words of encourgement and with your garcious donation. I didn’t reach my goal so the credit card gets to cover the rest but I got really close with your help as of today I am at $2550 which will go a long way in helping find a cure for blood cancer. Thank you all once again!

Call me crazy, but I am doing it again! Only this time, I am training to run a 26.2 mile marathon with Team In Training and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, January 11th in Orlando, Florida. I will be running in honor of local blood cancer patient and will raise funds to support research for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma and to improve the quality of live of patients and their families. In order to prepare for the marathon, I will have to train hard, but I will constantly be reminded that my effort is nothing compared to the challenges faced by the people who I am making this journey for: those suffering with the terrible effects of leukemia, lymphoma and other blood related cancers.

Hi everyone, I know the upates are getting farther and farther between. Things are improving as far as the ankle goes. While I was in California I ran on the treadmill every morning and then went out hiking through the hills, shopping malls, and wineries, what a difficult way to put in my training. ;-) Thursday we had our recommitment party and so now I can’t back out. I am now obligated to raise the $3400 or pay it myself so I really need your help spreading the word.

Thank you for your continued support and encouragement. Please don’t forget to ask your family and friends to check out my blog and my fund raising page. all donations are 100% tax deductible so please encourage others to help out.
Come back next week to see how many miles I’ve added to may week and how the times are changing. As Always THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND WORDS OF ENCOURAGMENT!

Finally running again -
Hi everyone, I know I’ve been kind of a slacker lately. The miles were really starting to add up and limiting my time to make updates. On Sunday, October 5th, I sprained my ankle during my mid morning run. I have been babying it ever since. The doctor had me stay off of it for 1 week and has told me to slow go back into training and to avoid any impact for a couple more weeks. So, this week I started back training on the elliptical. today we did 4 miles and I felt fine. next week I will run on the treadmill and the following week I will be able to return to my full training program.

Tuesday Sept 16th -
Back to the 3 mile runs until Saturday. We upped our segments to 2.25 running and still at 3 walking. By the end of our 3 miles today we were laughing and cutting up so I guess its safe to say the increased segment hasn’t hurt us any. We, also, found a new track to run and it made keeping up with the distance much easier. We’ll be off and running first thing in the morning so that we can go to Park Tavern tomorrow night. Hope to see you there so we can tell you about the morning run…
Wednesday Sept 16th - things are going pretty good even after running last night and turning around and running in the morning. we still manage to maintain a good pace and have lots of fun. we only did 2 miles this morning and plan to make up the other one tomorrow.
Thursday Sept 17th - ops - I guess I needed the rest ended up sleeping instead of running.
Saturday Sept 20th - GTS at the river. What a great run! this was our first 4 mile run. We had help from Garry and Derek, who ran with us today. We, also, increased our time just a little. We’re running 2.5 minutes and walking 3 in no time we will be up to the planned 8/2 that we will doing during the race. Today was a special day for the Disney team our honored hero, little Miss Mary and her family (including her 1 month old baby brother), joined us. What an inspiration it is for all of us to have her with us! Come back next week to see how many miles I’ve added to may week and how the times are changing. As Always THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND WORDS OF ENCOURAGMENT!

Tuesday September 8th - with the rains we decided to head indoors for our run today. It started out really good but along about the end of my first mile my ankle started hurting again. I wasn’t sure but it felt like it was rolling in every time I took a step. By the time I reach 1.7 miles, I could hardly stand to do the walking segment. I broke down and stepped off the treamill. But I will be back -
Wednesday September 9th - the rains have done a number on the trail that Sarah and I have been running on the last couple of months so we went out in search of a new location. We decided to try the Silver Comet Trail starting just off South Cobb Dr. near 285. What a GREAT RUN! Today, I have never felt better at this rate I know we can do it. We did a 5K running 2 minutes and walking 3 and stayed right on track for the whole run. After we finsihed I felt good enough that I could have done another mile - but we will hold off on that until Saturday.
Thursday September 11th - today was a short run and the weather looking kind of nasty we decided to stay close to the gym just incase. but what a great run! We’re running 2 walking 3 still but today we found ourselves talking almost the whole time we were running! we’re going to up the running next week. I can hardly believe that just a few weeks ago after 1 mile I was ready to quit. now we blow 2 off as if it were nothing!
Saturday September 13th. 3 miles run 2 minutes walk 3sometimes it feels like a piece of cake other times I wonder how I got into it. Today was great; we started off with an injury prevention meeting and then out to the parking lot for our 3 mile group run. What an experience the group runs are! I can’t tell you how amazed I am at the difference a few weeks makes. I am looking forward to my 26.2 mile run in January more everyday.
Thank you agian for your support!

Tuesday - Ouch, this was not the way to start the week. The first thing I did was twist my ankle. The trail is starting to wash from the recent rains and the acorns are all over and covered by leaves so I really don’t know what I did. With Sarah’s help and words of encouragement I continued, we ran 2 miles, running 1:45 minutes then walking 3.
Wednesday - we did 3 miles. I’ve decided that I’m starting to fall apart. I twisted my right ankle, yet my left ankle had swollen up to the point that I had indentions where it started and ended – no pain just swollen. So, we pressed on increasing our running segment to 2 minutes and walking 3 minutes. Running went pretty good; it was rather hot as it is in ATL in September. But all in all a good run.
Thursday- only 2 miles today. Sarah wasn’t feeling well after the run yesterday so we switched out and run inside on the treadmill. We increased our running segment, to 2:30 minute run and 3:00 minute walk.
Saturday - We did 3 miles with the TNT group starting at Peachtree Presbyterian Church. It was a lot of fun even without any sleep after Alex’s football game and worrying most of the night with his leg injury. It was extremely hot but it was still a lot of fun.
Sunday – instead of running I’m doing some cross training and getting in a little bit of a work out.
Stay tuned for this weeks exciting update J and don’t forget to give me that extra bit of encouragement without you I couldn’t run…
